About · Oleg Kostyuchok, CMC

I’ve been the lender, the borrower and the builder.

Strategic CFO and finance transformation leader with 25+ years of experience. I turn financial information into decision systems and execution discipline, so leadership teams make better decisions and turn them into measurable results.

Oleg Kostyuchok, CMC

I work with owners, boards, CEOs, investors and lenders in higher-stakes moments: a transition in the finance seat, a turnaround, financing ahead of readiness, growth outrunning the numbers, an acquisition or exit, or a first step into a new market. I have sat on every side of the credit table: as the lender and as the borrower.

Career

As Group CFO of a top-5 banking group with about US$3B in assets, I built the finance team from 4 people to over 100, ran monthly IFRS consolidation across up to 120 legal entities, and cut the reporting cycle by up to 75%. I arranged US$1.5B of public and club borrowings on international markets, including debut Eurobonds, and closed a US$1B liquidity gap through the 2008 crisis without default.

I led more than 10 acquisitions through integration. As the acquirer’s representative, I chaired the supervisory board of an acquired bank through integration and disposal.

As CEO of a public leasing company with a Warsaw-listed parent, operating in about 70 cities, I took new business from zero to US$400M a year and annual profit from zero to US$9M, then sold the company to a strategic buyer above the price first sought.

Before industry, I spent 7 years in audit under IFRS, including as a manager at EY. I speak the language of the finance team and the auditors, and translate it for owners, boards and lenders.

Canada and the mill

In Canada, I started as a fractional CFO with Amplify Advisors, then served as VP Finance at Bow Valley Credit Union, a top-5 Alberta credit union, where I tripled treasury revenue in a business line with more than $100M in assets and reported to the board and the regulator. I was Director, Advisory at PKF Antares, and I am Strategic Finance Advisor to Stronghold, an Alberta real-asset manager.

As Chief Strategy Officer of OTI Food Products, I led the financing of a greenfield flour mill in Acme, Alberta. A bare field in early 2024 became a working mill in July 2026, built to international food-safety standards. We financed the build and delivered it.

That experience is the work I do now. I know what a company looks like from inside the credit decision, because I’ve sat in every chair around it.

Credentials

I founded Strategic Growth Leadership Inc. in 2026. I co-founded the Finance Meet-Up Series in Calgary and mentor early-career finance professionals. I live in Calgary with my family.
